Arnold J. Norem Jr. has joined the Stone Education Center as the new Education Services Officer, as of January 21, 2018. He is coming from Armed Forces Community Services (AFCS) at JBLM where he served as the Family Services Program Manager at Waller Hall. He oversaw multiple programs to include: Community Information Services (I&R), Outreach, Relocation Readiness, Mobilization and Deployment, Financial Readiness and Exceptional Family Member Programs. Prior to that he was the AFCS Financial Readiness Program Manager and a Personal Financial Readiness Specialist. He has been with Armed Forces Community Services at JBLM since March of 2011
Mr. Norem is a native of Washington State and grew up in Port Orchard. He is married and has two sons
Mr. Norem’s education consists of Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from City University of Seattle, Bellevue WA in 1995 and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Central Washington University in 1991.
Mr. Norem worked for the Navy (2006-2010) prior to coming to work for the Army. He was the Supervisory Program Analyst for Commander Navy Installations Command in Washington DC, where he served as the Navy-wide technical expert for Fleet and Family Support’s Personal Financial Management (PFM) program.
Mr. Norem enjoys gardening and is in the process of training to become a Pierce County Master Gardener through WSU extension.
